Celecoxib Capsule is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is famous for having a lower risk of causing gastrointestinal bleeding than other NSAIDs.

    How Celecoxib Works ?

Celecoxib Capsule is a selective, non-competitive inhibitor of the COX-2 enzyme. Unlike most NSAIDs that inhibit both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, celecoxib is selective in inhibiting only the COX-2 enzyme. This selectivity is the most important feature of its mechanism of action.

Inhibition of COX-2 by celecoxib suppresses the formation of prostaglandins and other metabolites in the pain and inflammation pathway, for example, prostacyclin (PGI2) and thromboxane (TXA2).
